Congressional Hearing

    After watching the congressional hearing clip, I have realized a lot of things.  Times have changed.  Parents treat their children very different because of how society has changed overtime.  Although I know others feel different, I feel the way parents treat their kids have changed for the better.  When my parents were growing up, it was not uncommon for parents to beat their kids when they acted up.  Law enforcement has made it evident that parents will go to jail if they are violent with their children.  I also feel parents have become more lenient.  In terms of internet pornography or just pornography itself, I feel parents are not as uptight if their children see pornography.  Although the internet did not come about until the 1900’s, parents probably would not want their kids to see pornography before the age of sixteen.  A lot of parents still think pornography is immoral.  Some parents think sex in part of life and children will eventually see it so if they see it at a young age will not be the worst thing in the world.  Overall, the age that parents today will want their children to see pornography has decreased overtime.
